The Role
We are seeking an experienced electrical project manager with Solar and battery storage experience to manage customer enquiries from initial consultation through to contract agreement. The role suits someone confident working with both homeowners and commercial clients, offering technically robust and financially compelling solar and battery storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage solar PV and battery storage projects from enquiry through to completion.
- Carry out site surveys for domestic and commercial installations.
- Assess client energy consumption and identify suitable renewable energy solutions.
- Design and specify solar PV and battery storage systems using industry-standard software.
- Prepare detailed quotations, proposals and financial appraisals including ROI, payback periods and self-consumption analysis.
- Present technical and commercial proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), suppliers and manufacturers where required.
- Coordinate with the design, procurement and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
- Monitor project costs, variations and programme milestones.
- Attend site meetings and provide technical support to installation teams.
- Ensure projects comply with current regulations, MCS standards and company quality procedures.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, CRM records and reporting.
About You
We're looking for someone who is technically competent, organised and passionate about renewable energy.You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience managing solar PV and battery storage projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and domestic solar PV systems.
- Good understanding of inverters, optimisers, battery storage and electrical distribution.
- Knowledge of G98, G99 and DNO application processes.
- Experience using design software such as OpenSolar, SolarEdge Designer or similar.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage project profitability.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- 18th Edition Electrical Qualification.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Experience with Tesla Energy, SolarEdge, Alpha ESS, Sigenergy or other leading battery storage platforms.
- Knowledge of MCS requirements and commissioning processes.
- Experience using Simpro or similar job management software.
