Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Dementia Care
Location: Bridlington, East Yorkshire (YO16)
Job Type: Temporary (Initial 3-Month Contract)
Shift Pattern: Long Days & Nights (12-Hour Shifts)
Pay Rates: Up to £30.14 per hour (PAYE)
Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) with dementia care experience to join a brand-new specialist dementia service in Bridlington. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern, purpose-built environment delivering high-quality mental health nursing care to adults with complex dementia and long-term mental health conditions.
This temporary contract offers flexible long-day and night shifts, providing the chance to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting residents with complex clinical and behavioural needs.
Pay Rates (PAYE):
- Days: £23.18 per hour
- Nights (Monday-Friday): £24.00 per hour
- Saturdays: £25.50 per hour
- Saturday Nights: £26.50 per hour
- Sundays: £28.59 per hour
- Sunday Nights & Bank Holidays: £30.14 per hour
Shift Pattern:
- Long Days: 07:30 – 20:30
- Nights: 19:30 – 08:30
Please note: This role is for 12-hour day and night shifts only. Early and late shifts are not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred nursing care to adults living with moderate to advanced dementia.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based mental health care.
- Support individuals experiencing behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with dementia.
- Safely administer and monitor complex medication regimes.
- Manage challenging behaviour using appropriate de-escalation and intervention techniques.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with all professional standards.
About the Service
You'll be joining a newly established specialist dementia unit supporting adults with:
- Moderate to advanced dementia.
- Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).
- Stable long-term mental health conditions.
- Dual diagnoses involving dementia and mental illness.
- Complex medication requirements requiring ongoing clinical monitoring.
- Challenging behaviours requiring skilled nursing assessment and intervention.
Applicant Requirements
To be considered for this Mental Health Nurse (RMN) position, you must have:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Previous experience working within dementia nursing, mental health nursing, or complex dementia services.
- Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviours and complex mental health presentations.
- A valid Full PMVA certificate. If your initial course was completed previously, annual refresher training must have been maintained, and the original full 2–3-day certificate must be available.
- Excellent communication, clinical assessment and care planning skills.
