We're looking for a Procurement Manager who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and knows how to turn supplier relationships into a competitive advantage. You'll lead procurement strategy, drive commercial performance, develop a talented team, and ensure the materials and services needed to support innovation are delivered on time, every time.
Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
What you’ll being doing (but not limited too):
Leading and inspiring a high-performing procurement team.
Building strong supplier partnerships and negotiating best-in-class commercial agreements
Driving cost, quality and delivery performance across a critical supplier network.
Ensuring uninterrupted supply to support manufacturing and R&D programmes.
Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve processes and mitigate supply chain risks.
Collaborating with teams across Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to deliver business goals
Championing continuous improvement and helping shape the future of procurement within the business.
Essential Skills and Experiences:
Strong procurement experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
Good understanding of supply chain operations, including planning, inventory management, logistics, and demand forecasting.
Experience developing and improving procurement processes, policies, and best practices.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and their application within procurement and supply chain functions.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, contracts, and cost management.
Understanding of inventory optimisation and stock control principles.
Experience leading, developing, and motivating procurement or supply chain teams.
Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Experiences
Experience working within aerospace, defence, engineering, or other highly regulated industries.
Strong leadership style with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
Demonstrated success in driving supplier performance, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to support decision-making.
Experience influencing stakeholders and leading cross-functional projects.
Experience managing change and implementing procurement transformation programmes.
Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems, together with strong Excel and reporting capabilities.
Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
Professional procurement qualifications (CIPS or equivalent) would be advantageous.
