Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Lead to oversee daily culinary operations within our busy establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production. The Kitchen Lead will play a vital role in fostering a collaborative team environment while ensuring efficient kitchen workflows.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate food production schedules to meet service demands efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times.
- Assist in menu planning and development alongside culinary team members.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control waste to optimise resources.
- Ensure excellent customer service by supporting serving staff when necessary and maintaining a positive kitchen atmosphere.
- Enforce health and safety standards across the kitchen area.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
- Experience in food safety management and compliance with hygiene standards.
- Familiarity with food production processes in both restaurant and hotel environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as serving or barista work is advantageous but not essential.
