Job Overview:
We are a premier restaurant looking for a highly skilled Specialist Chef to lead our pastry and dumpling station. The successful candidate will be an expert in traditional Chinese dough-making and hand-folding techniques, ensuring our guests receive the highest quality authentic experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hand-crafted Pastries: Expertly prepare, fill, and fold various types of dumplings (Gyoza, Jiaozi, Bao), ensuring consistency in shape, weight, and aesthetics.
- Dough Preparation: Mastery of mixing, kneading, and fermenting different types of dough (leavened, unleavened, and hot-water crusts).
- Kitchen Management: Manage mise-en-place for the pastry section, ensuring ingredients are fresh and waste is minimised.
- Food Safety: Maintain impeccable hygiene standards in accordance with UK Food Safety regulations (HACCP).
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a Dim Sum or Pastry Chef in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen.
- Technical Skill: Exceptional hand-folding speed and precision.
- Language: Basic English proficiency is required to meet the UKVI Skilled Worker Visa (B1 level) requirements.
- Visa Status: Open to candidates currently in the UK looking to switch sponsors, or international applicants requiring sponsorship.
