The Wholesale Manager oversees and expands the bakery’s wholesale and corporate sales operations, ensuring sustained revenue growth and strong client relationships. The role requires strategic planning, market development, and close coordination with production teams to deliver high-quality bakery products to B2B customers.
Key duties
- Lead and manage B2B sales activities for bakery production, identifying, approaching, and securing new wholesale clients including cafés, restaurants, retailers, catering companies, and corporate buyers.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow wholesale distribution and recurring orders across multiple customer segments.
- Prepare tailored proposals, negotiate pricing structures, and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and product presentations through to order confirmation and fulfilment.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through regular engagement, addressing enquiries, resolving issues, and forecasting demand based on customer requirements and seasonal trends.
- Work closely with bakery production teams to align sales volumes with daily and weekly capacity, communicating bulk orders, special requests, and delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfilment.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, client specifications, product details, and communication logs using CRM and internal systems.
- Promote bakery products through sampling sessions, menu guidance, seasonal product recommendations, and targeted promotional activities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and product demand to support strategic planning and identify opportunities for new product lines or market expansion.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales performance reports, including pipeline updates, revenue tracking, and client retention metrics.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with food safety, allergen communication, hygiene standards, and internal quality procedures.
