JOB TITLE: Experienced Glazier
RESPONSIBLE TO: SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
HOURS: Full time Mon-Fri 0800 -1700 – 42.5 hour week
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
To carry out all types of glazing requirements including installing replacement sealed units, making safe broken glass, hack out replace and puttying work, sealing up of all types, templating, measuring cutting and surveying for typical window and door systems of PVC, aluminium and timber products. You will be working alone, sometimes as part of a small team and occasionally forming part of a larger team working on larger projects. The majority of your work will be in customer’s homes and on rare occasions construction sites and commercial buildings.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
Tier 2 Competencies
- Cutting glass to size and specification at the glass bench in the workshop.
- Loading glass, sealed units or mirror and / or related ancillaries onto delivery trucks for transport to job sites.
- Cut, hack out and remove glass or units of any type in preparation for glazing new.
- Carry out suitable temporary boarding up of damaged / broken glass to maintain safety and security.
- Fabricate templates using a variety of materials.
- Record any relevant site information and able to communicate clear information back to the office.
- Carry out site surveys, able to measure accurately for product ordering, understand and plan installations giving thought to access, lifting, health and safety and any specific site requirements.
- Replace sealed units of all types to all fenestration products.
- Replace or install glass or mirror of all types to all fenestration products including putty work when required.
- Complete all company documentation in line with company procedures.
- Able to work safely at height utilising work at height apparatus in a safe manner including erection of a tower.
- Promote the company in a positive manner at all times with a friendly, positive, customer focused attitude.
- Ensure company vehicles are cleaned and maintained in line with company requirements.
Tier 3 Competencies
- Lead a small team on all glazing installations start to finish responsible for planning, organising and supervising jobs to achieve a high standard of finish, being the main point of contact with the customer.
- Detailed knowledge of a wide variety of glass and fenestration products, able to action repairs and replacements to all industry systems including balustrading.
- Able to carry out basic window and door fitting tasks and willing to occasionally help out with window and door fitting installations when needed.
- Operate hoists or cranes including suction cups to aid with installation.
- Excellent making good skill set, able to carry out to a very high standard putty and silicone sealant work.
- Have a good working knowledge of building regulations relevant to fenestration as well as health and safety on site.

Pay: £28,178.00-£29,017.00 per hour
