Purpose of the Role
To ensure all temporary accommodation properties across Wales are safe, well‑maintained, compliant, and welcoming for guests. The Maintenance Person will carry out repairs, routine upkeep, safety checks, and respond to maintenance issues promptly to support the smooth running of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- General Property Repairs
- Carry out day‑to‑day repairs including plumbing, joinery, basic electrical work, painting, plastering, and general handyman tasks.
- Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure all properties meet safety regulations, including:
- Fire safety checks (alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting)
- Gas and electrical safety awareness
- Reporting hazards immediately
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Complete scheduled maintenance tasks such as:
Respond quickly to urgent issues reported by staff or guests, ensuring minimal disruption to accommodation services. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of communal areas, external spaces, and void properties ready for new guests. Log all repairs, materials used, time spent, and follow organisational reporting procedures. Work closely with accommodation managers, support workers, external contractors, and local authorities when required.
Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order.

- Proven experience in property maintenance, building repairs, or a similar role.
- Strong practical skills across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, decorating, basic electrics).
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
- Understanding of standards and safety requirements for temporary accommodation.
- Good communication skills and a professional, respectful approach with vulnerable guests.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working in supported accommodation, social housing, or homelessness services.
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
- Experience completing PPM schedules.

Pay: £14.50 per hour
