Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Demi Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team here at the newly operational Aloft By Marriott Manchester City Centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining excellent food safety standards. The Demi Chef de Partie will assist in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation, contributing to the overall dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in planning and organising daily kitchen operations
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically, adhering to food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Contribute to the presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages or expiry dates
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen workflow during service periods
- Assist with training junior staff and interns as required
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to minimise risks within the kitchen environment
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Experience with meal preparation and serving in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with various culinary techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
