We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Factory Supervisor to join our dynamic team. Here at J L Priestley we’re experts in dried vegetables and have been for the last 50 years. We source the finest ingredients from around the world and bring them all the way back to Lincolnshire where we process them and sell on to our customers.
We have 2 sites and are now needing to recruit a factory supervisor for our factory in Heckington to support our journey and continued growth.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Factory Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production teams, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality output. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
· To be an experienced and effective supervisor ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the factory
· Strong people skills with a personable and approachable style of leadership.
· To deputise for the Factory & Production Manager in his absence from site.
· To support the Factory & Production Manager in keeping the factory compliant to the required standard of BRC and customer audits.
· Along with the Factory & Production Manager ensure all factory documentation is completed fully to the required standard and completed at the required frequency. Examples include start up checks, cleaning schedules, Maintenance reporting, Metal Check sheets, Foreign Body checks.
· To take responsibility for the Hygiene standards of the factory.
· To complete internal audits as scheduled by the technical team.
· Assist with monthly swabbing as scheduled and required.
· A Continuous Improvement mindset with the ability to spot and implement improvements desirable.
· Support with completing refresher training and site inductions for staff.
· Attend Management meetings to cover the Factory & Production Manager.
· Ensure the CCP is effectively controlled and all documentation is filled out in a timely manner.
· Good understanding of Sage desirable.
· Support with factory maintenance and escalate to Factory & Production Manager any issues that require a contractor.
Skills
- Proven experience in manufacturing or factory management, with strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, capable of liaising confidently with team members and senior management.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing environments.
- Problem-solving aptitude with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Ability to motivate teams, foster teamwork, and maintain high morale within the workforce.
- Good knowledge of microsoft office.
Additionally:
To be an organised person with good attention to detail.
A good communicator across all levels of the business.
Hours to be 7am till 4pm, Monday to Friday ( some flexibility ideally) with responsibility for closing the Factory at the end of shift in the absence of the Factory & Production Manager.
Hours maybe changed by the Management team to suit the needs of the Business
