Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer specialising in CCTV surveys to join our team. In this role, you will carry out comprehensive drainage inspections, condition assessments, and mapping for housing associations and commercial premises. You will be responsible for identifying structural defects, blockages, and system failures, delivering clear reports to help keep our clients' properties fully compliant and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- CCTV Inspections: Operate push-rod and crawler CCTV survey equipment to inspect underground drainage systems across housing estates and commercial sites.
- Fault Diagnosis: Identify structural defects (cracks, roots, collapses, displaced joints) and operational issues (scale, silt, blockages).
- Reporting: Produce accurate, detailed CCTV survey reports, coded to WRC standards, including recommendations for remedial works.
- Drain Clearance & Maintenance: Perform high-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) and electro-mechanical cleaning when required to clear lines prior to surveying.
- Client Interface: Serve as a professional representative on-site, communicating effectively with housing association residents, commercial property managers, and internal supervisors.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to RAMS, confined space entry protocols, dynamic risk assessments, and site health and safety standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Essential:
- Proven experience as a Drainage Engineer with a strong focus on CCTV drainage surveys.
- Experience working within housing association, local authority, or commercial environments.
- Proficiency in industry-standard survey software (e.g., WinCan or Itouch Etc).
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Valid Confined Space Entry certificate (Medium/High Risk).
- CSCS Card.
- Water Jetting Association Including Drains & Sewers Module
- Desirable / Advantageous:
- HGV Driving Licence (Class 2 / Category C) is highly advantageous, but not essential.
- OS19x / OS20x Pipe Defect Classification qualification.

Pay: £30,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
