Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioners to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in childcare or early childhood education to make a positive impact on children's lives while developing their management and leadership skills. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs related to the role.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote early childhood development in accordance with curriculum guidelines
- Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development through personalised care and guidance
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, parents, and colleagues
- Monitor and record children’s progress, behaviour, and achievements, providing regular feedback to parents and team members
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines and special events
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery setting
- Demonstrate effective management and leadership skills by supervising junior staff or apprentices when required
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and external professionals to support children's needs
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to childcare provision
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting (nursery experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Management and leadership abilities to guide team members effectively
- Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent are highly desirable
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation duties or errands related to the role
- Ability to work flexibly within scheduled hours, maintaining professionalism at all times
