Altrad are seeking an experienced and technically capable HVAC Delivery Lead to support the delivery of HVAC installation activities within the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C.
This role will be based at Hinkley Point C on a permanent basis and will form part of the wider team of Leaders reporting to the Mechanical Lead. You will support the Area and Building Leads and Construction Engineers with day-to-day construction planning, engineering and works progression, ensuring HVAC installation activities are effectively sequenced, coordinated and delivered in line with programme requirements. The role will also involve managing technical issues, construction documentation, project change and the integration of completion and commissioning requirements.
Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:
- Support the Area and Building Leads and Construction Engineers with the day-to-day construction planning, engineering and progression of HVAC installation works.
- Utilise the 16WLA to support effective planning, ensuring material deliveries are known and the required documentation is in place.
- Take accountability for the delivery of discipline-specific Construction Work Pack scopes to support MEH construction activities.
- Support the delivery of HVAC installation activities in accordance with the agreed construction sequence and programme.
- Engage with constructability activities, working with Building Engineers and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate efficient sequencing and maximise installation efficiency.
- Manage project change within the HVAC discipline, ensuring the appropriate project change process is followed.
- Manage technical issues relating to HVAC construction and installation activities.
- Prepare documentation required for HVAC erection and installation activities, ensuring documents comply with the latest Works Information and relevant MEH documentation.
- Support the management and resolution of Technical Queries and construction Open Points.
- Coordinate engineering activities required to support the construction sequence.
- Identify and implement improvements to construction processes and ways of working, including the effective use of site-based redlining processes.
- Ensure the requirements of post-construction activities are incorporated into the construction sequence.
- Support the completion team with activities such as Commissioning Test Pack review and acceptance.
- Work collaboratively with other MEH disciplines to ensure effective integration and coordination of installation activities.
- Support the wider MEH construction leadership team in maintaining programme, safety, quality and delivery objectives.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with relevant project procedures, specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant construction discipline or HVAC engineering, with extensive experience working in a similar role; or
- 10 years’ experience in a site construction management role.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and installation.
- Good knowledge and understanding of CDM Regulations.
- CCNSG Safety Passport or MAPS.
- Capable of obtaining BPSS or higher security clearance.
- Proven experience in safely delivering large-scale construction or engineering projects, including experience working at a management level of authority.
- Experience within the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial.
- Experience working within Joint Venture environments is advantageous.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC installation and construction activities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
