We also work closely with the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC), the Advanced Food Innovation Centre (AFIC), and the Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organised Crime (CENTRIC).
Our students also work on live projects with businesses as part of their course, so there are plenty of opportunities to collaborate and set projects with industry, from Sheffield’s many IT firms to the biggest names in computing. The School was heavily involved in is the South Yorkshire Innovation Programme (SYIP), a regional innovation initiative that helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accelerate growth through collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University. Through the programme, businesses gain access to academic expertise, technical consultancy, student talent, and research facilities to develop innovative products, improve business processes, and explore new technologies. Within the School of Computing and Digital Technologies at Sheffield Hallam University, SYIP has supported a diverse range of companies, such as IG Tech, Tax Geeks, Webmart, Cultura Creative, Amaze Lab or Titans, across sectors including artificial intelligence, data analytics, manufacturing, software engineering, and digital transformation.
