Job description for Floating support Manager
The Prospering Place is a social care provider aiming to deliver high-quality person-centred specialist support in a semi-independent setting with tailor-made support packages for 16- to 21-year-olds.
The Prospering Place successfully registered with Ofsted to continue providing Supported Accommodation services for Looked After Children and Care Leavers. We currently have a number of step down placements for care leavers (around 22 young people) and we are constantly expanding. The homes are based in Staines Upon Thames, Brent, Harrow, Ealing, and Hounslow.
This role is an exciting opportunity which will give the ideal candidate the opportunity to be part of the development of new initiatives and lead on our existing floating support services for care leavers.

Operational Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies, and the Statement of Purpose.
- Achieve a quality service.
- Managing and supporting the homes staff team, providing supervision on a regular basis, assessing staff performance, and providing some training.
- Be responsible for managing and delivering a range of quality support and housing services to young people.
- Building and maintaining relationships with commissioners of services and be accountable for meeting and reporting on contractual commitments and KPI's.
Recruitment and leadership
· Recruit, induct, train, and supervise staff.
· Manage, support, and safeguard the children and young people and promote their wellbeing.
· Create a culture and ethos where the complex needs of each young person are met.
· To ensure the promotion of education, physical health, and emotional well-being of the young people.
Quality assurance
- To prepare and lead on contract monitoring meetings, Ofsted inspections, and quality assurance visits.
- To ensure Staff regularly update support plans and risk assessments.
- To ensure monthly reports are written by staff to a high standard.
- To support staff to ensure that young people have innovative and dynamic keywork sessions in line with their support plans.
- To lead on health and safety for the properties
- To manage a small caseload of young people, ensuring that you assess the needs and risks as relevant to each Service User and to support them to set and attain realistic and achievable targets.
What We Require from a Floating support Manager
· An interest in possibly expanding the service and working with care leavers.
· At least 2 years in a role supervising and/or managing staff
· Level 3 In Children and Young Peoples work force or equivalent.
· Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or willing to work towards this.
· Good IT skills
· At least 2 years experience working with care leavers.
· Ability to work flexibly
