Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role:
As a Room Leader at our Ecclesfield nursery, you’ll supervise and lead a team of practitioners and apprentices, helping them develop their skills and become the leaders of tomorrow.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead and support a team of practitioners and apprentices within your room.
- Identify knowledge gaps within your team and work with the Nursery Manager to provide appropriate training and development.
- Ensure all reporting is accurate, up to date and appropriately filed.
- Participate in and lead staff training, meetings, workshops and open days.
- Ensure your key children are encouraged and supported to flourish within an enabling and stimulating environment.
- Help create outstanding play and learning experiences that support children’s development.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Report any safeguarding concerns or breaches immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
This role is the perfect stepping stone into a senior leadership position, giving you the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while continuing to enjoy the rewarding and exciting nature of working with children.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who brings experience, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for supporting both children and their team.
Essential
- Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- At least 1 year’s experience working in a day nursery with children under 2.
- Experience working within an early years environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to support, motivate and develop practitioners and apprentices.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting children’s development.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Room Leader or similar senior early years position.
- Experience supporting staff training and professional development.
- A willingness to progress towards senior leadership within the nursery group.
