Occupational Therapist – Community Services (Local Authority / Equipment & Adaptations / Complex Case Management)

Pay Rate: £35 – £38 per hour
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for experienced Occupational Therapists to support Local Authority Community Services across the Central and West Fife area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist with strong experience in community-based practice, complex case management, equipment provision, and housing adaptations.
The role will involve working with adults within a community setting, supporting individuals to maximise independence, improve safety within the home, and access appropriate equipment and adaptations to meet assessed needs.
Job Purpose
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within a Local Authority Community Service, supporting individuals with complex needs through person-centred assessment, equipment provision, and adaptation recommendations to promote independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments within community and home environments
- Manage complex cases involving equipment, moving and handling, and major/minor adaptations
- Assess functional needs and develop tailored intervention plans
- Recommend and coordinate specialist equipment and housing adaptations
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, housing teams, and multi-disciplinary professionals
- Promote independence, safety, and wellbeing for adults within the community
- Complete risk assessments and provide professional recommendations
- Maintain accurate case records and assessment documentation
- Contribute to effective discharge prevention and community support planning
- Ensure practice complies with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
- Recent experience within a Local Authority Community Occupational Therapy service
- Strong experience managing complex Occupational Therapy cases
- Experience with equipment provision and housing adaptations
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills
- Ability to work independently within a community setting
- Strong knowledge of moving and handling and risk assessment processes
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
- Full UK driving licence desirable due to community-based working
