Job Title – Finance Support
Purpose of Role
To provide administrative and operational support to the Finance Officer, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintenance of records, and timely completion of finance-related activities across SIPP and SSAS schemes.
Responsibilities
- Support the management of scheme fees.
- Assist with monthly accounts preparation.
- Support tax relief processing and record maintenance.
- Assist with audit preparation and information gathering.
- Provide administrative support for compensation processing.
- Assist with payment processing and authorisation preparation.
Key Tasks
- Raise and process TPO invoices on Sage.
- Prepare BMAP settlement information for review.
- Assist in compiling SIPP WIP and debtor reports.
- Assist in preparing SSAS debtor schedules.
- Produce and distribute SSAS Active Direct Debit reports.
- Prepare supporting information for auditor reporting requirements.
- Process and reconcile tax relief claims and receipts.
- Monitor tax relief transactions and escalate discrepancies.
- Process scheme fee submissions and respond to routine queries.
- Perform bank reconciliation activities for fees, tax relief, and PAYE accounts.
- Maintain monthly balance schedules and supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial reports and schedules for review by the Finance Officer.
- Liaise with internal departments to obtain information required for reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain accurate finance records and filing systems.
- Assist with complaint and compensation administration.
- Support month-end finance activities as required.
- Identify and escalate outstanding items, unreconciled balances, or processing issues.
Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience in a finance administration or accounts support role.
- Good understanding of financial processes and reconciliations.
- Experience using Sage or similar accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accuracy of reconciliations and financial records.
- Completion of assigned month-end tasks within deadlines.
- Reduction in outstanding finance queries and unreconciled items.
- Compliance with internal controls and procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
