Project Manager (Career Band)

Salary from £34,857 - £54,448 (with opportunity to progress as you develop in the role)

To help us achieve our ambitious strategy, we are looking for a commercially focused and innovative Career Band Project Manager to join the team.
The role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a pro-active and adaptable individual to join our team. Working alongside a team of Project Managers you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the organisation developing your skills to deliver multiple key Council projects (with a focus on Housing and Regeneration projects) using a structured project management approach.
The successful applicant will enjoy working in a varied and fast paced role whilst gaining construction project management experience and qualifications to progress within this career band post.
A career band competency framework and competency table detailing key accountabilities has been developed and provides framework to demonstrate individual progress in order to progress within the banding, to be applied in conjunction with the job description.
Band 5 – 6
Provide assistance to the Corporate Project Managers and be responsible (under supervision) for delivering lower level projects (<£250K)
Provide support to the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager on projects including assisting with project documentation, implementation of project plans
Liaising with contractors and suppliers as necessary in regards to project administration (procurement, standing orders, tendering, consultation, building control, planning and environmental health.
Band 7 – 8
As above
Developing skills and competencies in all aspects of project management by delivering housing/regeneration projects (<£500K).
Coordinate the work of other members of the project team as necessary
Work with Project Sponsor to identify specific tasks and work streams in line with the Project Plan in accordance with Project Objectives
Band 9 – 11
As above
Lead on projects including business cases, PID, Project Plans based on the Project Brief coordinating with the project team as necessary.
Work with the Project Sponsor to identify specific tasks, staff and financial resources.
Negotiate with contractors/suppliers regarding procurement, standing orders, tendering, consultation, building control, planning and environmental health.
Initiate corrective action where necessary in consultation with Project Sponsor and Programme Manager
Line management of Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers
About you
Working knowledge and experience in project Management with experience in either built environment, construction, regeneration or community asset programmes
Proven ability in using Project Management tools and techniques to manage multiple projects
Proven ability to management relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
