Overview:
IMS is a specialist lifting and mechanical handling contractor that delivers equipment, technology and integrated engineering services to the semi conductor/ pharmaceutical industries. Our solutions support our clients to optimize their efficiency by ensuring the performance, reliability and safety of critical equipment and people.
The main purpose of the role is to perform mechanical fitting and rigging tasks as directed by client representatives and in compliance with the relevant Company and client standards and procedure's.
Our team is looking for a qualified Mechanical Fitter to assist with structural fabrication and assembly projects. In this role, you will safely utilize hand and power tools to construct/install various mechanical assemblies/components. While formal rigging experience is highly advantageous, we are willing to train the right candidate who possesses strong basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
Main responsibilities
- Assist in the installation/rigging of Semi conductor equipment within clean room environment.
- Assist in site surveys and provide advice on equipment selection and use.
- Assist complicated and complex lifting operations as required.
- Provide technical advice when required to client Site Representative
- Carry out lifting duties as required.
- Inspect and issue equipment from site rigging
- Provide support to Company LOLER Site Competent Person
- Undertake other works as directed by client representatives on duties unrelated to rigging operations, including emergency duties deemed to be within your competence.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair rigging/mechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is a core technical skill required to assemble, install, align, and maintain machinery accurately and safely.
- Operate power tools for cutting, drilling, and shaping materials.
- Adaptive problem solving. Thinking analytically to troubleshoot complex mechanically failures and trace to root cause.
- Safety protocol Adherence. Exhibit a strict commitment to health and safety regulations, handling hazardous tools, and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly.
