Role Purpose
- Setting and operation the following machines:
- Mazak Integrex I-800 V/8S with Mazatrol Smooth Ai controller.
- Okuma VTM 120YB with Fanuc 18i-TB controller (transferable knowledge from Okuma 1200YB Fanuc controller).
- Must be able to set and basic program skills for least one of the above machines
- Multi axis machining background.
- Flexibility required in relation to operating more than one machine.
- Work to achieve set production times and targets.
- Support Technicians / Engineering in jig and fixture design.
- Following Operation Sheets, in order to ensure parts are progressed through the factory on time and on the correct pathway.
- Carrying out quality checks on own work using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, gauges etc, in order to ensure the part is produced to drawing specification.
- Carrying out daily and weekly TPM checks, in order to ensure machine and equipment is correctly maintained and to minimise breakdowns.
- Fully skilled machinists will also be responsible for training, mentoring and inducting less experienced Machine Operators, assisting them with resolving machining issues, to ensure optimum productivity and to promote good employee relations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments in order to support achievement of Customer and Company targets, objectives and goals.
- Carrying out continuous improvement, Lean and 5s activities in cell, in order to facilitate principles of Continuos Improvement throughout the company.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, ensuring guidelines are followed in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy and legislative requirements.
- Any other duties that may reasonably be required by the company from time to time.
Requirements
- Mechanical Apprentice trained, or qualified by experience. Previous Turn-Mill experience is essential.Bottom of Form
- Previous experience in Precision Engineering ideally in Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or Subcontract machining
- Experience working with High Value component or exotic materials including but not limited to Titanium, Inconel and Hardened Steel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, with guidance and supervision.
- Good working knowledge of Quality Standards

Pay: £18.25-£19.53 per hour
Expected hours: 37.0 per week
