About the Role
As a Junior Digital Accountant / Digital Accounts Assistant, you’ll support our growing digital accounting team.
Enjoying technology, accounting systems and helping clients get better organised, you do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be accurate, curious, practical and willing to learn.
Accounting is changing quickly. More clients are moving to online accounting systems, Making Tax Digital is increasing the need for better digital records, and tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, Dext and Fathom are becoming a normal part of how good accounting work is delivered. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in modern accountancy and be part of that change.
What You'll Be Doing
- Helping clients move onto Xero, QuickBooks, Dext and related apps
- Supporting software setup and client onboarding
- Assisting with bookkeeping tidy-ups and data checks
- Helping maintain bank feeds, bank rules and document capture processes
- Supporting senior team members with Making Tax Digital and digital accounting projects and developing your knowledge as you go
- Preparing simple guidance notes and helping clients with basic queries
- Working with accounts teams to improve the quality of client records
- Helping clients and colleagues make better use of online accounting tools
- Supporting general digital accounting administration and project work
About You
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have some accounting, bookkeeping or finance experience would be helpful
- Are interested in Xero, QuickBooks and online accounting
- Pay attention to detail
- Have confidence learning new systems
- Offer a friendly and practical approach with clients and colleagues
- Communicate well
- Want to study or continue developing accounting knowledge
- Come with a positive attitude and the ability to ask sensible questions
- Are someone who does not visibly panic when a client says, “I’ve been keeping it all on a spreadsheet”.
- Love learning new software, problem-solving, and want to build useful accounting experience in a modern practice environment.
Nice-to-have (not essential)
- An accountancy, business or analytics related subject
