We’re Hiring – Club Assistant (Breakfast and Afterschool Club)
Grade 3 £21,234.16 Full Time Equivalent
To be based at the Nest our birth to 2 site in the centre of North Shields
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and reliable individual to join our dedicated team as a Club Assistant, supporting the smooth running of our popular Breakfast and Afterschool Club at the Nest.
This role plays a vital part in creating a warm, engaging, and safe environment for our children before and after the school day. You’ll help provide a range of fun activities, healthy snacks, and positive interactions that support children’s wellbeing and development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping to set up and run our Breakfast and Afterschool Club each day.
- Preparing and serving snacks and light meals.
- Supporting children to play, explore, and develop social skills in a nurturing environment.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming space for all children.
- Assisting with club administration such as registers and displays.
- Promoting the school’s ethos of inclusion, kindness, and curiosity in all activities.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience of working with or caring for children.
- Can build positive, supportive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Is calm, patient, and caring in their approach.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and child wellbeing.
- Is flexible, reliable, and a great team player.
Qualifications and Training
- Basic Food Hygiene, First Aid, and Health & Safety training desirable (training can be provided).
- NVQ Level 1 or equivalent in English and Maths.
Working Pattern and Pay
- Part-time, term-time only (Temporary fixed term contract for the academic year in the first instance):
Sir James Knott Nest role Monday to Friday: 7.30-9.30am and 3-5pm = 20 hours
- Grade 3- Salary in line with Local Authority pay scales- £21,234.16 Full Time Equivalent
