Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Luton Vans to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring they are secured during transit.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, mileage, and vehicle maintenance issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or delays.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies during transportation.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with knowledge of flatbed or commercial driving.
- Able to lift heavy furniture items safely
- Valid driving licence
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems or maps accurately.
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long periods of driving.
- Experience with flatbed transportation is highly desirable for handling diverse cargo types.
