Job Summary
Motivated, enthusiastic and experienced people are required, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for an individual with multiple complex care needs. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills while delivering care to an individual in their own home /family home. Care is conducted on a 2-1 basis over 24 hours and 7 days a week.
Undertaking a range of duties to support the Client, you will work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of health care. Our client suffered a brain injury due to a road traffic accident and is now quadriplegic. He is highly dependent and requires maximum assistance with full personal care. He has a gastrostomy for medications, a urethral Catheter to manage his bladder, staff are to anticipate all interventions.
He has a purposely adapted vehicle to enable his carers to take him out in the community.
Our client lives in his own purposely adapted accommodation in the Clayton le Woods area, with a team of carers. The property is shared by his family.
Our client has a 24-hour care package with 2:1 support, 2 carers during the day, one awake night support and one sleep-in support
Carers will be expected to cover all hours (24/7) in rotation and holidays and sickness periods of other care team members.
Responsibilities
- Providing personal care, including daily pad changes
- Medication administration (including epilepsy management)
- Promoting independence and maintaining safety at home and in the community
- Reliability, integrity and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.
Essential requirements
- Care experience: 1 year (required)
- Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
Pay: £12.55-£14.00 per hour
