We’re looking for an enthusiastic, Contracts Engineer to join our Housing Division.

What you'll be doing:
- Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction.
- Be involved with the planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant and material resources.
- Implement operational quality control measures and quality assurance processes.
- Process work plans for each job including calculation of cost allowances.
- Drive the progress of each project, ensuring each job is monitored and each member of the Contract Team is aware of their responsibilities.
- Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for the Health and Safety of the project ensuring all required documentation in place.
- Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project.
- Check awaiting goods and follow up on equipment required, arranging deliveries
- Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise the performance of contracts
- Ensuring that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed by setting up initial projects.
- Act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures, undertaking any other duties reasonably required to support the effective running of the office.
Who we're looking for:
- Previous practical experience from the construction sector or similar transferrable skills.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK and hold a full, clean UK driver’s licence (required).
- Have demonstrable ability to thoroughly plan for effective project implementation
- IT competent in Microsoft packages
- Valid CSCS would be beneficial
- Team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Effective planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Methodical and structured approach to problem solving
- A can-do attitude with a flexible approach.
Other Requirements:
- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)
