The Head of Data & AI is responsible for leading the Trust’s data, analytics, and AI function across Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust Adult and Children’s Mental Health Services. The postholder will ensure high-quality, trusted, and actionable data is used to support safe patient care, operational delivery, regulatory reporting, service transformation, and population mental health improvement. As a member of the Informatics Senior Leadership Team this role will deputise for the Head of Informatics as and when required
The role will focus on strengthening local Trust data processes, improving reporting accuracy and timeliness, enhancing operational intelligence, and embedding practical AI-enabled solutions that support clinicians, operational teams, and senior leaders.
Working closely with clinical services, operational managers, and digital teams, the postholder will lead the development of robust mental health data systems and analytics capabilities aligned with NHS England standards and local Trust priorities.
To deputise for the Head of Informatics when necessary and contribute to the Informatics senior management team.
To manipulate and analyse highly complex data by using expert technical knowledge and skills in Access, Excel and additional data management tools i.e. SQL, TMI or multi-dimensional tools
To have well developed knowledge and be the Trusts expert lead on local and national data standards, definitions and datasets and returns
To support the Head of Informatics in the management and development of the interface between operational services, the clinical system ( EPR team) and the wider informatics team
To be responsible for ensuring that all information performance requirements are effectively communicated across the Trust and reported on to agreed timetables
To ensure that there is a robust process in place to consider, agree, manage and record all information variations.
To implement and maintain robust “log” for managing, reporting and responding to all data management queries
To develop and implement effective and efficient data quality practices
Develop effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues, partner organisations and regulatory bodies.
Work closely with service users, carers and other representatives to ensure that services delivered meet the needs of local people.
Promote a culture of information assurance and continuous improvement and support policy implementation and delivery across the whole organisation.

Degree or equivalent experience in Data, Informatics, Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Information, or related field.
Evidence of continuing professional development in data, digital, analytics, or leadership.
