We are looking for an experienced and personable Day Event Supervisor to help us deliver exceptional weddings and events.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a wedding day. You will take responsibility for the smooth, safe and professional running of the daytime event, supporting the couple, welcoming guests, coordinating suppliers and calmly resolving any issues that arise.
Working Pattern
This is a flexible, zero-hours role paid at £15 per hour.
Normal working hours are approximately 10:00am to 4:00pm, although occasional flexibility may be required depending on the event schedule.
During the summer months, Froyle Park hosts events almost every day, providing regular opportunities for shifts. During the winter months, we typically host approximately two to three events per week.
Weekend availability is essential, as many of our weddings and events take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Applicants must be able to work regular weekends and bank holidays.
Shifts will be offered according to the event calendar and agreed based on availability.
Additional Work Opportunities
Alongside Day Event Supervisor shifts, there may also be opportunities to undertake additional paid work across the venue, including:
- Assisting with wedding showcases and open days. Froyle Park hosts approximately 15 of these events each year.
- Welcoming prospective couples and supporting the team during venue showrounds.
- Assisting the weddings and events office during particularly busy periods.
- Providing office cover during periods of annual leave.
- Supporting other venue activities where additional operational assistance is required.
These additional opportunities will depend on business requirements, experience and availability and are not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the principal daytime point of contact for the couple.
- Welcome guests warmly and create an exceptional first impression of Froyle Park.
- Liaise confidently with caterers, florists, photographers, entertainers and other wedding suppliers.
- Coordinate supplier arrivals, venue access, setup and event timings.
- Ensure suppliers comply with venue policies, procedures and agreed arrangements.
- Oversee the smooth running of the daytime wedding schedule.
- Anticipate and resolve operational issues before they affect the couple or their guests.
- Maintain the presentation, cleanliness and organisation of all guest-facing areas.
- Enforce Froyle Park’s Noise Management Plan politely, firmly and consistently.
- Carry out and accurately record required noise observations and operational checks.
- Uphold all health and safety, fire-safety and emergency procedures.
- Identify and respond appropriately to hazards, incidents, complaints and unexpected situations.
- Ensure fire exits, access routes and emergency equipment remain unobstructed.
- Communicate effectively with the evening event team and provide a detailed handover.
- Escalate serious or sensitive matters to senior management where appropriate.
Essential Experience and Qualities
Applicants must have:
- Previous supervisory or management experience within weddings, events, hospitality or a comparable customer-facing environment.
- Experience coordinating suppliers, guests and operational teams during live events.
- The confidence to take ownership of an event and make sound decisions independently.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused under pressure.
- The confidence to enforce venue rules politely but firmly.
- A good understanding of health and safety responsibilities within hospitality or events.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Reliable transport and the ability to travel to Froyle Park.
- Regular weekend and bank holiday availability. This is an essential requirement of the role.
Previous experience working at a wedding venue, luxury hotel, country house or exclusive-use events property is strongly preferred.
Previous administrative, sales or wedding-coordination experience would also be advantageous, particularly for applicants interested in additional office and showround work.
This role involves regular walking, standing and moving around a large historic venue throughout the shift.
If you are friendly, confident, highly organised and passionate about creating memorable experiences for couples and their guests, we would love to hear from you.
