Job Overview
We’re looking for a reliable gardener’s assistant to join our small team at M&L Garden Services. This is a hands-on role working across a range of private gardens and commercial grounds.
This role involves working with various hand and power tools, to maintain and enhance our clients garden spaces. A commitment to quality and attention to detail is essential for success in this position.
The ideal candidate will be working Monday-Friday, with the occasional Saturday when required.
You must be able to get to my storage facility at Merrylees Road, Thornton LE67 1AN daily.
Essential Duties
- Operate hand tools and power tools for various gardening tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Lawn care (mowing, strimming, edging)
- Weeding and border maintenance
- Hedge cutting and pruning
- Planting perennials, bulbs and trees
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening and working outdoors is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Takes pride in doing a job properly, not just quickly
- Ability to work well within a small team, as well as working alone using own initiative
- Reliable, physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential
