We’re looking to grow our team and have opportunities for both part-time and weekend-only roles in the heart of Cheltenham. We’re after experienced baristas and enthusiastic cafe assistants who are confident on the coffee machine, love good food, and are passionate about delivering a great customer experience.
Please note: this role requires good flexibility, including weekdays, weekends and holidays/half-term availability. We’re looking for team members with reliable, ongoing availability throughout the year, and meet the demands of a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Barista Duties (must have skill):
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages with precision and artistry.
- Ensure consistency in coffee quality and presentation according to established standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised coffee station
Food Preparation:
- Prepare poke bowls, acai bowls, and other menu items with attention to detail and adherence to recipes.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with FSA standards for hygiene and safety.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimise waste and ensure freshness.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in making menu selections.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to enhance the overall customer experience.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the cafe, including eating areas, food prep areas, and toilets.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to uphold hygiene standards.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance and report any issues to management promptly.
Cash Handling and Closing Duties:
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Perform cashing up duties if on the closing shift.
- Secure the premises at the end of the day, ensuring all doors and windows are locked.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work independently as well as part of a team as per business needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques.
- Previous food prep experience would be ideal but not essential as full training will be given.
- Knowledge of Food Standards Agency (FSA) regulations and a commitment to upholding high hygiene standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
