Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role involves assisting with food preparation, cleaning duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high standards of hospitality and service within our establishment. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitised according to health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift
- Help with organising ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow
- Support with serving food and beverages when required
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with company policies
- Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality services
