We are hiring a reliable and customer-focused Site Security Officer to work in a world-class manufacturing site in Shrewsbury. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in the security sector. Duty will be a 12-hour shift for both day and night. The rate is £14.10 per hour. The bank holiday rate is double time.
The job responsibilities of the Security Officer are:
- Applicant must hold a valid SIA Door Supervision or Security Guarding licence.
- Normal shift pattern will be a 4 on/4 off rota.
- Flexibility with shifts as this role will include working days and nights, Monday through Sunday and overtime covering annual leave.
- Carry out patrols, supervise access, key and CCTV controls.
- To ensure all Security Incident/Loss/Accident Reports are completed before shift handover.
- To assess and report potential safety hazards so that remedial action may be taken.
- Ability to respond to system alarms and notifications correctly.
- Key management.
- Complete reports and shift documentation.
- Conduct site patrols.
- Complete site audits.
- Book in/out visitors and contractors.
- Gatehouse duties.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Have a polite and professional attitude to internal and external customers.
- The ability to work independently or as a team and lone working will be part of this role.
- Accountable and responsible while working independently, understanding your critical role as a first response in protecting the property and assets.
- Calm under pressure and can respond and escalate matters according to procedure.
- Undertake regular training to ensure expert knowledge of the site procedures.
- Must be computer literate.
- Excellent level of English both written and spoken.
- Understanding the site’s Assignment Instructions and carrying out any other duties as required.
