We're looking for a passionate, organised Duty Manager to join our team at The Monro.
As a Duty Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venue, leading the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of service, compliance, and operational excellence. You'll work closely with the General Manager to drive performance, develop the team, and ensure the venue operates efficiently and profitably.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the venue during your shifts, ensuring outstanding customer service and smooth day-to-day operations.
- Support, coach and develop supervisors and team members, creating a positive, high- performing culture.
- Organise and deliver on-the-job training, ensuring all team members are trained and signed off to company standards.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, probation reviews and appraisals to support performance and development.
- Help to produce weekly rotas in line with business needs, ensuring wage budgets are effectively managed.
- Assist with stock management, ordering, deliveries, invoice checks and regular stock takes to minimise wastage and maximise GP.
- Oversee cellar management, including changing kegs, maintaining cask quality and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and stock rotation.
- Complete opening and closing procedures, cash handling, banking and venue security to company standards.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, health & safety, food hygiene and licensing compliance, including Challenge 25.
- Help to organise management meetings, delegate responsibilities across the management team and ensure agreed actions are completed.
- Resolve guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring every guest leaves with a positive experience.
- Support the General Manager with audits, KPI performance, recruitment and the overall commercial success of the business.
