We are looking for an experienced, reliable, calm and efficient cook with a passion for traditional home made cuisine to join our hard working kitchen team.Working under the supervision and leadership of our Catering Manager, you will prepare and produce freshly cooked breakfasts, hot and cold lunches, home made puddings and desserts to recipe standards.
A busy day can see the team welcome for 50-60 customers for breakfast, and anything from 90/100-150 customers for lunch typically between the hours of 12 and 2pm.We are seeking a fantastic addition to our daily team of chefs - who will be adept in all aspects of food hygiene, food preparation, cooking, baking and plate presentation whilst upholding a cool, calm and fast paced service on the hot pass or cold plates section before, during and after the height of service.
KEY CREDENTIALS
Previous experience of home cooking from scratch efficiently to recipe expectations within a commercial kitchen environment is essential. A passion for plate presentation, and good old fashioned West Country classic meals in accordance with the Garden Centre Restaurant Tea Room menu is a must.
We are seeking someone who will be a positive and pro-active addition to our kitchen team, who will gel with kitchen colleagues, front of house, and work well under pressure.The ability to think ahead and communicate with colleagues for a seamless service whilst working in post is essential.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods in a fast paced environment is par for the course.
Flexibility and team spirit is requested when it comes to helping with sickness or holiday cover, or to meet the seasonal demands of the business.
