Deputy Manager – Residential Care Home (Mental Health & Challenging Behaviour)
Salary: £29,000–£35,000 per annum plus two annual performance bonuses

Hours: 40 hours per week, including flexibility to participate in the management on-call rota
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the leadership and day-to-day operation of our residential care home. The service supports adults with mental health needs and behaviours that may challenge, delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home.
- Lead, motivate, and support care staff to deliver exceptional care and support.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Promote person-centred care and positive behavioural support approaches.
- Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and support plans to ensure residents' needs are met.
- Conduct staff supervisions, spot checks, and performance reviews.
- Support recruitment, induction, training, and staff development.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to audits and quality assurance processes.
- Build effective relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Participate in the management on-call rota as required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards).
- Proven experience supporting adults with:
- Mental health conditions
- Complex needs
- Challenging behaviours
- Experience in a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Assistant Manager, or Deputy Manager position.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, CQC standards, and person-centred care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training.
- Experience working with learning disabilities, autism, or forensic / mental health services.
- Full UK driving licence.
