Floor Layer – Social Housing Repairs (Permanent)

Salary: £38,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card
We are working with a leading social housing contractor who is looking to recruit an experiencedfloor layer to join their reactive maintenance team. The successful candidate will be ideally based in or around Cambridge and willing to travel across Norwich, Ipswich, Essex, Luton, Watford, and surrounding areas.
This is a permanent opportunity working within occupied social housing properties, carrying out a variety of flooring repairs and installations to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out reactive flooring repairs and planned installations within tenanted properties.
- Installing and repairing a variety of flooring materials including Altro, vinyl, safety flooring, and cap & cove systems.
- Completing hot weld and cold weld flooring installations to a high standard.
- Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures.
- Providing excellent customer service while working within occupied homes.
- Using PDA/job management systems to receive, update, and complete work orders.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Floor Layer within social housing, domestic repairs, or maintenance environments.
- Must have strong experience in both hot welding and cold welding flooring installations (essential).
- Experience installing cap & cove flooring systems is essential for this opportunity
- Experience working with Altro and vinyl flooring.
- NVQ, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
- Comfortable working in occupied properties.
- Confident using PDA or mobile job management systems.
- Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach.
- Ideally based in or around the Cambridge area, with flexibility to travel across the wider region.
