The newly refurbished Kings Arms Hotel is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly organised Wedding Planner & Events Coordinator to lead and grow our weddings and events division.
Following a major transformation, our boutique-style hotel, restaurant, cocktail bar, and historic Assembly Rooms are entering an exciting new chapter. We are now seeking someone with strong hospitality and events experience who can take ownership of wedding sales, event coordination, and client experience from enquiry through to execution.

About the Venue
The Kings Arms Hotel is a beautifully restored boutique hotel located in the heart of Berwick-upon-Tweed, featuring:
- 26 newly refurbished luxury bedrooms
- Amore Ristorante & Cocktail Bar
- Beer garden and private dining areas
- The historic Assembly Rooms wedding & events venue
- Capacity for up to 120 seated guests / 150 evening guests

The Role
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of weddings, private functions, and corporate events, ensuring every event is delivered to the highest standard.
You will work closely with hotel management, restaurant teams, chefs, and external suppliers to create memorable experiences for guests while maximising venue sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing wedding and event enquiries from initial contact through to completion
- Conducting venue show rounds and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings
- Building strong relationships with couples, clients, and suppliers
- Coordinating wedding timelines, function sheets, and operational planning
- Upselling packages, accommodation, food, beverages, and enhancements
- Managing social media wedding content and online event presence
- Attending wedding fairs, networking events, and promotional activities
- Ensuring seamless event delivery alongside operational teams
- Maintaining excellent communication and customer service throughout
- Helping grow the hotel’s weddings and events reputation locally and regionally
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in wedding planning, events coordination, or hotel sales
- Has strong hospitality or boutique hotel background
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Is confident conducting sales appointments and venue tours
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Can remain calm under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously
- Is commercially aware and target-driven
- Has experience using booking systems, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms
- Is flexible to work evenings and weekends when required
