Summary
Transferring stock between sites and assisting in the loading of lorries for delivery to customers as well as any other duties within the operations of the business when driving duties are not available, primarily within the yard, appropriate training will always be provided. These duties will be varied and will change to suit the day to day needs of the business.
· Driving in accordance to all relevant road traffic laws and tachograph laws. Complying with all relevant legislation
· Performing daily checks at the start of shift each day prior to departure, ensuring the safety and security of loads
· Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times
· Ensuring continued load security and safety
· Reporting any accidents, damaged products, and vehicle defects to the Transport department
· Understanding and conforming to all Company policies and procedures, specifically as stated within the Driver Handbook/Staff Handbook
· Attending all training courses when required
· Following all safe systems of work at all times. Identifying and reporting any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaising with the HS&E department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary
· Actively engaging in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervening to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary
