Workshop Fitter – Specialist Plant Machinery
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Workshop Fitter to join their team based in Letchworth.
The Role
Working within a well-equipped workshop environment, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair and preparation of a range of heavy plant equipment, with a particular focus on specialist machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
- Perform repairs and component replacements to manufacturer standards.
- Complete inspections and machine preparations for customer delivery.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
- Accurately complete service records and job sheets.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high levels of workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Workshop Engineer, Construction Equipment Engineer or similar.
- Strong knowledge of heavy plant machinery
- Good diagnostic skills covering hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with excavators, dumpers, loading shovels or related construction equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent) would be advantageous.

Pay: £36,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
