Overview
We are seeking reliable and hard working General Labourers to support our full time site team in the safe and efficient running of a busy feed store in Portland.
This is a practical, hands-on role involving general labouring, industrial cleaning, housekeeping, and store support duties. You will help keep the site clean, tidy, safe, and operationally ready at all times.
Duties include:
- General housekeeping and cleaning of the feed stores and surrounding areas including operational quayside
- Sweeping, shovelling, and clearing spillages
- Jet washing authorised areas and surfaces
- Feed waste removal and general tidying
- Keeping access routes and work areas clear
- Supporting general site labouring tasks
- Reporting defects, damage, spillages, and unsafe conditions
Requirements:
- Reliable and hard-working
- Good awareness of safety and housekeeping standards
- Comfortable carrying out physical work
- Able to follow instructions and work well within a team
- Previous labouring, cleaning, warehouse, agricultural, or industrial experience would be beneficial, but is not essential
Important Information:
This role does not involve operating machinery or mobile plant unless separately trained and authorised.
For the right candidate, there may be opportunity over time to take on additional support duties, including tailgating lorries during vessel intake operations.
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
