We’re looking for an ambitious and insightful Management Accountant to join our team at Worcester Racecourse, playing a key role in supporting our continued growth and driving financial performance at one of the region’s best-loved sporting venues.
What you'll be doing
As Management Accountant, you’ll take ownership of the racecourse’s financial planning, reporting and performance, while becoming a trusted commercial partner to the General Manager and senior team.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence everything from annual budgets and pricing strategy to commercial negotiations, race day performance and long-term investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
-
Partner closely with the General Manager and senior team, providing commercial insight, financial guidance and challenge to support business decisions.

Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning process, ensuring financial targets are achieved.

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports and board reporting, providing clear analysis and insight.

Monitor and manage race day financial performance, including forecasting, results and variance analysis.

Drive a strong culture of cost control, financial accountability and commercial awareness across the racecourse.

Support the commercial team with pricing strategy, supplier contracts and key commercial negotiations, ensuring value for money.

Ensure robust financial controls, compliance and statutory obligations are maintained, including effective management of the balance sheet and audit processes.

Build strong relationships across racing, operations, finance and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted financial business partner.
About you

Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience

Racecourse, sport or leisure background an advantage

Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.

Confident communicator and relationship builder.

Proactive and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Influential, with a balance of strategic and hands-on thinking.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Confident using financial systems, reporting tools and data.
