Fifty is an independent, family-run restaurant in the heart of Looe, Cornwall. We are a 30-cover restaurant focused on delivering high-quality, seasonal dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients in a relaxed fine dining environment.
We’re looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our small, close-knit kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh produce, takes pride in their food, and wants to play a key role in a growing independent restaurant.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Supporting the development of seasonal menus and daily specials.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards.
- Helping with stock control, ordering and minimising waste.
- Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
- maintaining a positive working environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food and quality ingredients.
- Calm, organised and able to work efficiently during service.
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
