School Cleaning Supervisor – Cobham KT11 2AX

Are you looking for a part-time role where you can make a real difference? We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
About the Role
As a Working Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Keeping school facilities clean and hygienic.
- Supervise cleaning operatives and ensure cleaning tasks are completed to specification
- Carry out routine site inspections and quality checks
- Ensure cleaning standards, presentation and hygiene requirements are consistently maintained
- Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained and equipment is safe and operational.
- Ensure correct use of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH and safe systems of work
- Ensure PPE is used correctly and is available where required
- Provide on-the-job instruction and support to cleaning operatives
- Report defects, hazards, accidents, near misses or maintenance issues
- Ensure cleaning cupboards and materials are kept secure, tidy and correctly stocked
- Support induction of new operatives and ensure site procedures are followed
- Escalate quality issues, staffing issues or client concerns to the Contracts Manager
- Promote good housekeeping and professional conduct at all times
What We Offer
- Pay: £14.45 per hour.
- Hours: 12.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 4PM – 6.30PM, term time + 2 additional weeks = 41 weeks per year).
- Training: Training provided – however previous supervisory experience in a cleaning role is essential.
- Uniform & PPE: Corporate uniform and PPE provided
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience in a Cleaning Supervisor role.
- Strong organisational skills, including rota management and task delegation.
- Experience in staff training and performance monitoring.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Great communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a proactive approach to work.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and willingness to support the wider team when needed.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

- This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and applicants must be able to provide the necessary documentation for us to arrange this on their behalf.
