British Red Cross work experience placements include a combination of office administration and work on discrete, short-term projects, depending on the person’s areas of interest and skill. Work experience typically takes place on a full-time basis for one or two weeks. Work experience placements give an opportunity to gain experience within different departments and an insight into the work of the British Red Cross. The expected start date for the work experience is 8 August 2026 and will run for 3 days, from 9am to 5pm. What you will be doing: 8th July: working with the Health & Care team in the office with Hertford Health & Care teams. 9th July: thoughts and reflections on previous day, presentation on Health & Care Services within South East of England, tour of British Red Cross Head Office, shadow Meeting with TeleCare, meet teams at Chelmsford Office, meeting with Emergency Response team, meeting with First Aid Training, meeting with HIU (Health & Care), and virtual meeting with Refugee Services. 10th July: virtual Session online, thoughts, reflections, questions and work placement portfolio work. You need to have good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills although full training can be given for any technical requirements.
