Care Assistant – Newlands Care Home, Dunfermline
£13.45–£14.45 per hour with paid breaks (which is equivalent to £14.90–£15.95 with unpaid breaks)

Newlands Care Home is a small, family-run home in Dunfermline, and we are looking for two full time Care Assistants to join our dedicated team.

About the role
· Shifts run as follows:
o Morning shift 7am – 1pm
o Afternoon shift 1pm – 6pm
o Backshift 6pm – 10pm
o Night shift 10pm – 8am
Most full-time staff will work be rostered for either 7am – 6pm / 1pm – 10pm / Night shift. There may be times however when you are rostered for shorter shifts.
- You will be rostered in advance and work alternate weekends
- You’ll provide personal care, reassurance and support to residents, ensuring their dignity, comfort and safety at all times
- This is a physically demanding role and requires good time-keeping and reliability
- Flexibility is important, additional shifts may be available to cover absence or holidays
What we’re looking for
- Reliability is essential – our residents depend on us, so we are looking for people with a strong work ethic, low sickness levels, and a commitment to being part of the team
- Previous care experience in a work setting (ideally in a care home)
- A caring, friendly and respectful approach – able to put residents at ease
- Patience, resilience and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
- Strong communication skills and a good sense of humour
- Commitment to completing SVQ 2 (if not already held) within 3 years

- PVG membership (this will be applied for and paid by us)
- SSSC registration within 3 months of commencing employment (we will support you with this)
