HGV Class 1 Tramping Driver immediate start
Location: Keighley, West Yorkshire
Salary: £45,000–£53,000 per year, dependent on hours worked and overtime
We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Tramping Drivers to join our team on a full-time tramping position, delivering palletised freight to various businesses across the UK.
Pay & Earnings
Typical weekly earnings based on a 65-hour working week (61.25 paid hours):
- 45 basic hours: £648.00
- 16.25 overtime hours: £247.80
- 5 × meal allowance: £25.00 (untaxed where applicable)
- 4 × overnight allowance: £80.00 (£20 per night, untaxed where applicable)
Typical weekly earnings: £1,000.80
This represents approximately £52,042 per year when working these hours consistently for 52 weeks. Actual annual earnings will vary depending on hours worked, overtime and overnight runs, with the overall salary package expected to be in the region of £45,000–£53,000 per year.
Pay rates:
- £14.40 per hour basic rate
- £15.25 per hour overtime rate
- £5 per day meal allowance
- £20 per overnight allowance
The Role
As a HGV Class 1 Tramping Driver, you will be required to overnight in the vehicle while delivering palletised freight to various businesses across the UK.
The work will include general haulage and various contract operations, providing a varied workload for experienced drivers.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday morning run-ins when required.
About You
You will need:
- Full UK HGV Class 1 licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Digital tachograph card
- At least 1 year of goods vehicle driving experience preferred
- A thorough understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
- Good customer service skills
- A positive and professional attitude
- Flexibility to work occasional Saturday morning runs
- The ability to stay away overnight in the vehicle
