Summary of the apprenticeship
Our client is now looking for an IT Apprentice to join the company. The apprentice will be responsible for answering system user queries and fixing faults in a helpdesk environment to ensure the business runs smoothly.

What will the apprentice do at work?
You will be required to understand a range of applications and services supported by the Service Desk by making use of any appropriate knowledge and working with colleagues whilst ensuring that calls are logged correctly and accurately by obtaining the correct and relevant details from the user and logging these within the companies ticketing software. The successful candidate will need to have a willingness to learn and gain experience within an IT environment. Main responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve ICT problems and faults within the required SLAs.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
- Install software for business users when requested.
- Ensure first line processes are correct and kept up to date.
- To show a genuine desire to continually improve your technical knowledge and ability through self-study.
- Handle technical support issues via incident management escalations.
The apprentice's training schedule
The classroom training for the Information Communications Technician comprises of 4 modules. The apprentice will attend the training in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.
The modules taught are:
- Network Fundamentals
- Mobility and Operating Systems
- Cloud Fundamentals
- IT Business Principles
Each module is delivered remotely over five consecutive days, with the training weeks scheduled at intervals throughout the apprenticeship.
Additional training information
- We are a government approved apprenticeship training provider. We provide apprenticeships for a wide range of employers, large and small.
- Some of your working hours will be spent training or studying with your appointed JBC Trainer/Mentor or your employer. Learning the skills you need to be successful in the role and complete the apprenticeship.
- You will have a progress review with your trainer and line manager every three months, along with regular support sessions to help you develop your portfolio.

Pay: £15,600.00 per year
