We We here at FSE property services, are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Field Service Engineer Scheduler with excellent communication and customer-service skills to join a busy service team.
You will be the central point of contact between customers, Field Service Engineers and internal departments. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and coordinate engineer workloads, ensuring service visits are scheduled efficiently and customers receive a consistently high level of service.
This position provides exposure to all areas of the business, and with changing priorities, customer requirements and engineer schedules, no two days will be the same. It is a varied role offering responsibility, independence and the opportunity to develop valuable skills within a supportive team.

Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise and allocate work to Field Service Engineers based on their skills, location, availability and customer priorities
- Review survey schedules and scopes of work, identify the appropriate building trades and schedule works in the correct sequence from outset to completion
- Manage engineers’ diaries and maintain an efficient field-service schedule
- Book planned maintenance, servicing, repairs, installations and emergency call-outs
- Schedule all due and overdue maintenance visits
- Prioritise urgent jobs and adjust schedules promptly when requirements change
- Communicate job details clearly to engineers, ensuring they have the information needed to complete each visit
- Coordinate engineer routes and workloads to minimise unnecessary travel and maximise productivity
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, responding to requests and queries by telephone and email
- Keep customers informed of engineer arrival times, delays, rescheduled visits and job progress
- Record customer interactions, appointments and job updates accurately within the CRM system
- Liaise with the parts, warehouse and technical teams to ensure all necessary parts, equipment and documentation are available before work begins
- Monitor outstanding jobs and follow up on work requiring further visits, parts or action
- Work closely with multiple departments to resolve scheduling issues and maintain a high standard of customer service
- Maintain accurate service records and support the preparation of scheduling and performance reports where required
The ideal candidate
- Previous experience in scheduling, planning, service coordination or a similar role
- Knowledge or experience of property maintenance and building trades
- Ability to interpret survey schedules and scopes of work, identify the appropriate trades and plan works in the correct sequence through to completion
- Knowledge of SOR codes would be highly desirable
- Competent in using Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Experience scheduling Field Service Engineers, technicians, mobile teams or other field-based personnel would be highly advantageous
- Strong customer-service skills, with experience handling queries by telephone and email
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities
- A calm and practical approach when dealing with urgent jobs, cancellations or unexpected changes
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using CRM systems and scheduling or workforce-planning software
- Strong attention to detail when managing customer information, engineer diaries and service records
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to work with customers, engineers and colleagues across the business
