Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-School Leader to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for nurturing young children’s development. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team of childcare professionals, create engaging learning environments, and support children in their early years. Applicants should have relevant experience in childcare or nursery settings, along with excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the pre-school team, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as local authority policies
- Organise staff rotas, oversee daily routines, and support team members in their professional development
- Monitor children's behaviour positively and implement behaviour management strategies when necessary
- Assist with administrative duties such as record keeping, attendance tracking, and reporting
Qualifications
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning frameworks
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent)
- Valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transport requirements if needed
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently, prioritise responsibilities, and work collaboratively within a team
Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
