JY Group is an established and growing commercial vehicle conversion and auto electrical company based in Haslingden, Lancashire. We specialise in high-quality electrical installations and bespoke vehicle conversions for some of the UK's leading fleet operators, utility companies, local authorities and private customers.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Installation Engineer to join our team.
This is not your typical workshop Auto Electrician role. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality installations and enjoys working on a wide variety of vehicles, from vans and 4x4s through to specialist utility and fleet vehicles.
About the Role
You will be responsible for installing and commissioning a wide range of vehicle equipment, including:
- Towbars
- Parking sensors
- Reversing cameras
- Dash cameras (DVR systems)
- Vehicle trackers and telematics
- LED beacons and warning lighting
- Scene lighting and work lamps
- Reverse alarms
- Auxiliary power systems and inverters
- Split charge and lithium battery systems
- Diesel night heaters
- Vehicle security systems
- Bespoke electrical installations
- Commercial vehicle conversions
- Utility and fleet vehicle equipment
The role is primarily field-based, working at customer sites throughout the UK, although you will regularly attend our Head Office in Haslingden to collect vehicles, equipment and materials.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working on vehicles and takes pride in producing neat, professional installations.
You must have:
- A minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience working on vehicle electrical systems or commercial vehicle installations.
- Previous experience fitting aftermarket vehicle accessories or carrying out vehicle conversions.
- The ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Excellent fault-finding skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Good communication skills.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- The ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.
